Comprehensive Fisheries development programme would be implemented in Yadadri-Bhongir district with Rs 25 crores, said Assistant Director of Fisheries A Sukeerthi. She said that the State government has launched the programme to improve the livelihood of the fishermen. Under the programme, nets for fish hunting, crafts, two-wheeler vehicles, luggage autos and cold storage boxes would be extended to the selected fishermen with 75 per cent subsidy. In addition to this, 100 per cent subsidy would be extended to the construction of whole sale fish markets and 75 per cent subsidy to set up fish feedings manufacturing units, ice plants, processing units and fish seedlings, she added. The State government has sanctioned Rs 25 crores to the district under comprehensive fisheries development programme, she added. The members of Fisheries Cooperative Societies were eligible to apply for the facility.
