Out of 1,77,622 farmers, 1,21,922 farmers enrolled for farmers insurance scheme in Kamareddy district, said District collector Dr N Satyanrayana. On Thursday, the Collector conducted a review meeting on agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture and fisheries departments at Kamareddy collectorate. He said the district administration is enrolling farmers for insurance scheme. According to the AEO, clusters bankers and agriculture officials should conduct meetings in villages, distribute crop loans and insurance scheme enrollment. Collector Satyanarayana said Kamareddy district has newly obtained 8,793 new patta passbooks, and to enrol farmers for insurance scheme. He said horticulture department is distributing 8,534 sheep units in 2018-19 financial year. Fisheries department is grounding various types of loans by July 10 after taking concern from fisheries societies. Under these loans, they will distribute crafts and nets, crates, mopeds and 2 to 3 lakh revolving funds to women’s fisheries societies, distributing 15 to 20 lakh worth insulated trucks through societies by group members. Collector Dr Satyanrayana said horticulture department is creating awareness to people on vegetable growing, constructing farm ponds, under Harita Haram program by planting 20,690 fruits plants at various schools in Kamareddy district and conducting survey to plant palm plants in ten societies. CPO Srinivas, Animal Husbandry JD Dr Ramesh, Horticulture AD Shekhar, Fisheries AD Poornima, JDA Chandrashekhar, Lead Bank Manager Shiva Prasad also participated in the meeting.
