The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Friday asked the Centre to continue efforts through the diplomatic channel with Sri Lankan government for the release of 68 fishermen, who were arrested for fishing in the Island nation’s territorial waters. A Division Bench of Justices C.V. Karthikeyan and S.Srimathy made the remark after taking note of the status report filed by the Centre as sought by the court on the actions taken for the release of Indian fishermen.
