A Sri Lankan multi-day fishing trawler that had set sail from the Beruwala fishing harbor has capsized in the Maldivian waters, according to reports from Colombo. Fishermen who were on the top of the capsized vessel screaming for help have been rescued by a passing fuel tanker.
One fisherman has gone missing, according to the Beruwala Coast Guard office. The Coast Guard says that it has received information that the multi-day fishing trawler belongs to a businessman in the Payagala area and the fishermen are from Beruwala, Walatara and Ambepitiya areas.
