6 fishermen who went missing while at sea in the Thilina Putha fishing vessel are to return to the island from Seychelles today. The ministry of foreign affairs noted that the fishermen are to arrive at the Katunayake international airport this morning. The director of the Sri Lanka department of fisheries- investigation unit, Padmapriya Perera noted that laws are strictly enacted against fishermen who migrate to other countries via multiday fishing vessels.
