The sultanate of Oman took part in the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) 33rd Session of the Committee on Fisheries in Rome.

The five-day event came to an end on Friday.

The sultanate’s delegation to the conference was led by H E Dr Hamad bin Said al Oufi, Undersecretary for Fisheries in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.

The conference included the sultanate’s inputs regarding the decisions and recommendations issued by the 16th session of the subcommittee on fish trade, which was held in Korea in September 2017.

H E Dr Oufi delivered a speech about fighting illegal fishing and managing small fisheries, as well as the regional and international operations related to the oceans. The conference included meetings with FAO directors on activating the joint cooperation.

Meetings were also held involving heads of delegations taking part in the conference.
