Robert (Bobby) Jenkins is the new president of the Prince Edward Island Fishermen’s Association.

Jenkins has served on the association’s board and executive for many years, most recently as vice president.

He is a lobster and tuna fisher based out of Annandale Harbour in Eastern end of the Island, says a report issued Monday by the association.

At its recent annual general meeting, past president Craig Avery was thanked for his work over the past two and a half years.

The fishermen’s association represents over 1,260 fishers on numerous species and fishery-related issues.
