Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) Susi Pudjiastuti is holding a joint venture with Japan’s Prime Minister Hiroto Izumi’s Special Advisor on the development of fisheries and satellite facilities in six outer islands of Indonesia.
To Izumi, Susi also advised him to send her message to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to further develop Indonesia’s outer islands.
“I sent a message to Mr. Hiroto Izumi to be presented to the Prime Minister of Japan, so that the six islands plus zero in the back, so the 60 islands more. If this can be responded seriously, it is even better,” she said after a meeting at the MMAF office, Jakarta, Thursday (9/7/2017)
In the above cooperation, Japan is ready to build fisheries and satellite facilities in six outer islands of Indonesia, namely in Sabang Island, Morotai, Natuna, Saumlaki, Moa and Biak.
Susi said that if the cooperation with Japan which initially only building six outer islands, then is developed into 60 outer islands, then it becomes something extraordinary, especially for national fishery development.
“I really hope this offer becomes real. Thus, I leave a message to Mr. Izumi to be presented to the Prime Minister of Japan,” she said again.
Susi is optimistic if there are 60 radar hotel buildings in 60 outer islands of Indonesia, then Indonesia will be safe. Therefore, for Indonesia security will be important for all countries of Asia region.
“This cooperation is very important in order to build the development of fisheries and marine security as well as Indonesian marine navigation,” she concluded.
