Meghalaya Fisheries Minister Comingone Ymbon on Thursday said that the government has identified fisheries as a key sector since fish production in the state is very low and the Department has taken up several measures to augment the fish production. He was speaking at the first State Level Fish Farmers’ Conclave 2019 which was attended by scientists, scholars, fish market representatives, bank and credit representatives besides fish farmers from all the districts of the state. The conclave is about sharing experiences and also demonstrating how combined action in partnerships for healthier and productive resources can drive sustainable growth and shared prosperity while preserving our natural resources for future generations.
