India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rainfall (7-11 cm in 24 hrs) at a few places with very heavy rainfall (12-20 cm in 24 hrs) at isolated places, is most likely in Kerala on Thursday. It also warned, heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places on June 15 and heavy rainfall at isolated places in the state from June 16 to 18. Strong winds mainly from Westerly direction speed reaching 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely along and off Karnataka, Kerala coasts and over Lakshadweep area, an IMD release said. High waves are forecasted for Karnataka coasts (3.5- 3.8 m), Kerala coasts (3.0- 3.3 m) and Lakshadweep area (3.0 3.8 m). Sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough along and off Kerala, Karnataka coasts and over Lakshadweep area. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea along and off Karnataka, Kerala coasts and over Lakshadweep area. Strong winds and high waves are likely along Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat coasts. Sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough along these coasts and over East Central, west Central and southwest Arabian sea. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea over these areas also.
