Authorities in Naivasha in Kenya have arrested 17 fishermen for flouting maritime laws while operating within Lake Naivasha waters.
The arrests came just a day after the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), the Kenya Coast Guard and Maritime Police were deployed to the region as efforts to contain illegal fishing at the water body intensify.
The three authorities were deployed after an upsurge in illegal activities around the lake.
