Global Compacts Ocean Action Platform has gathered industry leaders, academia, governments and NGOs to take stock of its five tipping points for a healthy and productive ocean by 2030.

These points, identified in the ‘Global Goals, Ocean Opportunities’ document comprise sustainable seafood, decarbonising shipping, harnessing ocean electricity, mapping the ocean, and ending waste entering the ocean.

For the seafood sector the tipping point is defined as fully traceable, sustainable seafood. “The key role of seafood is well recognised, and we are advancing in transparency and sustainable seafood production,” said Wenche Grønbrekk, head of sustainable development in Cermaq, who facilitated the workshop together with Robert Blasiak from Stockholm Resilience Centre.
