In this session, Tero Mustonen, a fisherman from Finland, will first explain, how transformative climate change is at present to cryosphere (snow-ice) based cultures, lifestyles and professions, like winter fisheries. Secondly, by reviewing the Landscape Rewilding Programme by the Snowchange Cooperative links between equity, Indigenous- and community-led action on climate change and a “return to the land” are discussed as a globally-relevant actions to address our historic moment in time on the Planet. The presenters are: Tero Mustonen (the head of the Kesälahti fish base and a winter fisherman. He also works as a scientist, and is a Lead Author for the IPCC AR6. He lives without running water in the forests of Selkie, Finland) and John Kurien, (a reflective practitioner, marine small-scale fisheries expert with experience across Asia).
