The Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) and the Chilean National Human Rights Institute (INDH) have collaborated in a multi-year partnership to assess the human-rights impacts of the salmon industry in Chile. The results are ready now.

Being the first of its kind, this study documents and analyses these impacts to establish a sustainable salmon industry that focuses on the respect for human rights. The online global launch event of the sector-wide impact assessment (SWIA) report of the salmon industry and human rights in Chile will take place on November 24th at 1:00-2:00PM PM CET (UTC+1). Sign up for the launch at: https://bit.ly/3wuRj5L. Languages: English and Spanish. The event will focus on both Chile and the global level.

This global launch event will convene key global stakeholders for a discussion on what measures states, companies, civil society, United Nation agencies and National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) can take to better respect, protect and fulfil the human rights of the workers and communities when developing a sustainable salmon industry and the aquaculture sector as a whole.
