The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has announced an opening for a staff position as Fishery Officer (Small-Scale Fisheries) for a fixed-term duration of two years, with possibility of extension. This post is located in the Equitable Livelihoods Team (NFIFL) and based at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. The deadline for application is 15 March 2022.
The Fishery Officer supports work on small-scale fisheries of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Division (NFI) in line with the Voluntary Guidelines for Securing Sustainable Small-scale Fisheries in the Context of Food Security and Poverty Eradication (SSF Guidelines).
This includes the direct provision of support to the implementation of the SSF Guidelines and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal (SGD) target 14 b (Provide access of small-scale artisanal fishers to marine resources and markets).
