The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has rescued some 15 fishermen who were stranded in a boat for three days in the Bay of Bengal off the coast of Bhasan Char.
The boat went adrift in the sea following an engine failure around 3:30pm on Sunday, about 16 nautical miles southeast of Bhasan Char.
Coast Guard East Zone Staff Officer (Operations) Lieutenant Commander M Habibur Rahman said that the fishing boat “FV Surma-1” with the 15 fishermen went fishing in the Bay of Bengal on Sunday.
