The fisheries control team in Dhofar Governorate of Oman has arrested a number of expats for fishing for Al-Sarkhah on board artisanal fishing boats using scorpion nets.
A statement issued online by Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources said: “The fisheries control team in Dhofar Governorate managed to arrest a number of expatriate workers during the process of fishing for Al-Sarkhah on board artisanal fishing boats with the use of scorpion nets. The team confiscated diving equipment and the captured fish. The legal procedures against them are being completed.”
