Indonesia’s Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti said the North Jakarta reclamation project will continue without causing any losses to fishermen operating in the area.
“We will make sure the fishermen won’t be at a disadvantage,” Susi said on Thursday (29/09).
The minister did not explain how the government is going to safeguard the welfare of North Jakarta’s fishermen during the construction phase of the project.
According to Susi, the government allows reclamation only in areas where it would not cause environmental damage or negatively impact society.
