The government of Moxico will continue to support this year the activity of fishing and the promotion of micro industries of processing and fish processing, developed in this province, as part of the fight against hunger and poverty.
The focus of the Government was announced today in Luena, to Angop by the provincial director of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, António da Silva, explaining that the initiative aims to enhance fishing and aquaculture (raising fish in tanks), which involves more than a thousand artisanal fishermen.
He assured that the provincial government will cooperate in institutional capacity building, research, monitoring, provision of technical assistance and extensionism of artisanal fisheries, to contribute to the diversification of the economy.
“The fishing industry provides a livelihood for many families and is an” added value “to the province,” said the official, adding that the action will contribute to the balance of the food security of the population, promoting employment and strengthening the Government bet, as part of the fight against hunger and poverty program.
