The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) has hit 449 certified farms in 38 countries as of April 18, the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) said in a release.

During a forum on ASC and Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) progress at this year’s seafood expo in Brussels, the ASC revealed it also has 109 farms in assessment in 19 countries. Meanwhile, the MSC had certified 300 fisheries in 36 countries as of April 10.

Panelists from a range of MSC and ASC partners discussed the importance of collaboration in order to preserve seafood in the long term at the forum, including European retail giant Lidl.
