The outgoing government in Argentina has delivered clear positive results in the fisheries sector, achieving a rise in seafood exports, among others, Juan Manuel Bosch, Argentina’s soon to be former fisheries undersecretary, told Undercurrent News before the Oct. 27 election brought a new government to power.
President Mauricio Macri was defeated at national elections as voters chose the leftist candidate, Alberto Fernandez, and former President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner as vice-president. This means that Bosch will be replaced with a different one -yet to be chosen- appointed by the new leftist government.
“It went well for us,” Bosch said of his government’s time in office during an interview earlier this month in Vigo, Spain.
Argentina’s seafood exports sharply rose during Macri’s time in office.
