British fishermen are lashing out against EU boats putting “100 percent of their efforts” into UK fishing waters thanks to EU regulations allowing them to make all their profits from British stocks.
The end of the Brexit ordeal could not come sooner for British fishermen forced to fight in their own waters with fishermen coming from the continent to make a profit out of UK stocks. Speaking on BBC Two’s Cornwall: This fishing life, skipper James Roberts claimed boats from Spain, the Netherlands and France have been taking advantage of British waters for years. He said: You’ve got Spanish vessels, you’ve got Dutch vessels, you’ve got French vessels.
They’re all coming here and some of them are 100 percent fishing, 100 percent of their efforts is in British waters because this is where the stocks are and this is where they make their money.
Echoing the sentiment, skipper Cameron Henry also said: There’s more French boats, foreign flags boats than us.
So who’s taking more stock from the sea? Not us!

EU fleets are allowed to fish in British waters thanks to the Common Fisheries Policy applied by the Brussels bloc on all member states.
