Strong winds with speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph is likely over western parts of westcentral and southwest Arabian Sea in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned. Squally weather is likely over Andaman Sea, Comorin-Maldives areas and adjoining equatorial Indian ocean owing to which the fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Sub- Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, east and west Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, south Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, as per an IMD release.
