The fishermen community of Ganyagula village in Nagarkurnool mandal has appealed to the State government to come to their rescue, as the fish which were being raised in Eedulacheruvu, the minor irrigation tank in their village, were dying of strange disease. The fishermen have urged the government to test the dead fish which were found floating in the water on Tuesday and asked the officials concerned to ascertain the cause of their death. The fish seed was distributed by the State government to support the fishermen community. However, due to some strange illness, many fish were found dead in the irrigation tank. The village is located close to Gudipally Gattu reservoir. There are around 200 fishermen families, whose livelihood is depends on fisheries.
