Mechanised boat fishermen did not venture into sea for fishing on Tuesday in view of a weather warning issued by Indian Meteorological Department, Chennai. The IMD has issued a warning that strong winds, from southwesterly to westerly direction, with a velocity of 35-45 kmph, and going up to 55 kmph, is likely along and off the coast of south Tamil Nadu. High waves rising up to 3 to 3.3 metres have also been forecast till 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday along the coast from Colachel to Dhanushkodi.
