Panaji: Sagarmitras will be engaged in training aspiring fish farmers and self-help groups in the state in the art of fish culture, said fisheries minister Nilkanth Harlankar. “The training is being given to hone the enterprising skills of the people and to make them self-sufficient. The training given by sagarmitras must therefore be taken up by anyone who is serious about venturing into fisheries,” he said.
He insisted that interest must be generated in the idea of ‘vocal for local’. Speaking on the Aqua Goa Mega Fish Festival which begins on Friday, the minister said that buses will be sent into remote areas to transport school children from the hinterlands to the festival to brief them about the various technologies in fisheries
